Hi. Lorraine here posting for Sarah. The past few days have been hard for Sarah as she has had severe stomach pain due to the lining of her stomach and GI tract is sloughing off.
She is taking a good amount of Morphine to help with the pain and is sleeping through the rough part.
She has had a fever, mucositis and esophagitis, her blood pressure is up and down and she has dry heaves. All of this due to her blood counts have bottomed out.
Once the stem cells start to engraft they will go straight to where her body needs the most help, so hopefully her stomach will start to feel better.
The constipation is still there so she is taking scary laxitives.
Other than these aweful things she is fine but not so Sarah Smiley.
Hope all of you are doing great. Thanks for all your love and support we both appreciate it so much!
Lorraine

My thoughts are with you guys. I am on day 89 since my transplant, back to work and feeling great. THERE IS LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL!
Please tell Sarah that I'm thinking of both of you and hope the pain doesn't last much longer.
Hi Lorraine (& of course, Sarah too!),
Thank-you very much for the update....
I really feel for Sarah going through so much discomfort.....at least you know the chemo is doing its job.
All I can say, is that when this is all over, the pain will become a distant memory.....& when she starts to feel better again, she will be on cloud nine.
Please know how much we care & we know her smile will shine again soon!
With Love,
Angie & Sue

Lots of healing wags and wet smouches your way!!!
Lorraine and Sarah,
Glad for the update, although I sure wish the news was better. I know this is all to be expected and just part of the process...and I know that nobody is better equipped to get through this than Sarah...but STILL, breaks my heart to know she's hurting, and Lorraine by association.
Sending big hugs and lots of love from Indiana.

Hey Lorraine!
Tell Sarah that Brian says she's milked this whole SCT thing long enough - it's time for the badassness to kick in already!
Glad to hear they're keeping her good and drugged up through the low part here. The good news is, once she starts getting the Neupogen again, it won't hurt 'cause there's a lot of room in the bones from no marrow! Yay! Sorta!
Both of you take care - Barb and I are pulling for you up here!

Hey Lorraine! Thanks for the update. Sarah, you're smart for taking all the drugs you can get. May all this become a gentle blur. Some day the two of you will talk about this time and shake your heads in wonder about how you got through it.
Dear Sarah and Lorraine,
Hang in there. All this will pass and soon you will be home celebrating +100 days. Please keep the faith.
God bless you both.
Anne
Thanks Lorraine!!!
Hey Sarah, rev those engines, put it in drive, move into the fast lane and SPEED your way to recovery.
Thinking of the both of you! I know this has to be tough. I know you are "just doing it". It will be over soon.
(((HUGS))),
Judy
Hang in there Sarah. You're doing great. Almost there. We miss you on the board!
