I'm just about to take my Ambien (to facilitate going to sleep after all the comings and goings throughout the night -- I've been on it since the first night and strongly urge others going through this to utilize this support.)
My fever's still at 101.5, I'm sorry to report. And my blood pressure's also way up, interestingly. They also took another blood culture, as it's their protocol to do another culture after someone's had a fever for 24 hours. My oncologist rethought the antibiotic option, and I took a pill of something or other just after dinner.
I now have more nausea and the headache's worsened a bit as well. Constipation was relieved yet again by diarrhea, but it wasn't quite as, er, dramatic an experience as that of last night. Ahem.
Wouldn't it be lovely if the antibiotic worked its antibiotical magic?
Thank you again for the messages and comments!!!! I know I'm repeating myself, but I so appreciate your support, you guys. :)

Hi Sarah,
That fever could very well be the meds. When I was hospitalized for the blood clot, counts went down cause it was 6 days post chemo, I got a fever and they gave me lots of antibiotics. I was on 4. Then, my fever really went up. It was 105 deg. It would go up really quickly and go down to normal just as quickly with tylenol. Except for the thermometer I would not have known I was running a fever, it was weird. It took them a week to figure out it was from one of the meds they had given me. Once they stopped it I was better within a couple days.
I hope you feel better tomorrow. Get some rest. Keep up the good work. Enjoy your view. You are on your way through.
(((HUGS))) and prayers,
Judy
Getting the jump on Day -5. (You haven't posted yet, and if you feel bad and don't want to post, don't post!) But I just want to keep counting down the days with you and Lorraine.
When Cleveland Clinic thought I had relapsed, I was a wreck. The possibility of SCT has haunted me since. But reading about you going through this makes me feel a lot less anxious. You don't make it sound fun (nothing about Hodgkins is fun) but you and Lorraine have such a clean, clear attitude. A kind of 'Okay, let's get it on' attitude.
But I still think that you should do as much of this in a drug-raddled haze as possible. I mean, if you have the choice between being clear-headed enough to post and being wonky and stupid from drugs, I say pick wonky and stupid. We can all still count ourselves.
Good thoughts and prayers to ya lady! I am amazed by your strength and positive outlook in the midst of all this. If that counts for anything you will be on your way to your dream trip before you know it. jackie
